Bonneville County was established February 7, 1911. Settlement of the area began as early as the 1830’s when U.S. Army Captain B.L.E. Bonneville discovered the beautiful Snake River plains. This area eventually became known as Idaho Falls.
Bonneville County’s cities and towns include Idaho Falls, Ammon, Iona, Ucon, Ririe, Irwin, and Swan Valley. It has an estimated population is 92,948, and is projected to reach 101,209 by the year 2011.
