The 4th annual Taste of Idaho took place June 21st in historic downtown Idaho Falls. The event was a great success again this year, with around 20 participating restaurants, and a record crowd attending from all over southeast Idaho.

Ammon, Idaho is a quaint little suburb located right in the backyard of Idaho Falls. In 2000 the census quoted it as having a little over 6,000 residents. However, due to the recent high growth, the area has since tripled in size. Bonneville County was established February 7, 1911. Settlement of the area began as early as the 1830’s when U.S. Army Captain B.L.E. Bonneville discovered the beautiful Snake River plains. This area eventually became known as Idaho Falls.

Idaho Falls Freedom Celebration

Every year as July approaches, the Idaho Falls area is trembling with excitement for the upcoming 4th of July celebration.  The day’s events are kicked off at 9:30 a.m. by the annual Independence Day parade that begins at the Civic Auditorium and ends at Tautphaus Park.  This event attracts easily over 30,000 people from all over the world.
